C'est surtout à propos du réaménagement de la dette argentine d'avril 1987 qu'il a été question des «exit bonds» ou «bons de sortie». Il s'agit de convertir une partie de la dette en obligations à longue échéance (25 ans par exemple), à faible taux d'intérêt et pour laquelle les porteurs (essentiellement des petites banques) ne seront plus sollicités dans les programmes à venir de rééchelonnement qu'ils considèrent avec réticence.
